How To Make A Vortex

The most wanted Photoshop guide in the history of all Piplup-Princess, How to make that 'Spinny Thing'. Well Firstly let me tell you, its called a Vortex. Since your all pretty eager on how to actually make this, I'll move straight onto it!

Firstly here are the things you'll need -
A Working Version of Photoshop
Any Version of Photoshop will do, I have CS, thats the one I'll be working with. I'm not sure if all of the Photoshop's have these features so if you don't... sorry.

A Working Computer
You'll need a computer to obviously work Photoshop, and your skills!

A Mouse
Well You need something to control the computer with.. Don't you?

Now since you've got all of this stuff, I'll be very happy to show you how to make it!
Open Up Photoshop, and once it has loaded, select your size. Any size will do! I'll be working with 300 pixels X 300 pixels, just to let you know!

Make sure you've got a black foreground and a white background set as your colours before you start! This will give the best outcome for the vortex. But you could try it with diferent combinations to see how it comes out.

Click on Filter > Render > Clouds. It'll come out with the effect below.

Then click Filter > Pixeltate > Mezzotint > Fine Dots.

And Finally, to give the awesome effect of the actual vortex, click Filter > Blur > Radial Blur. Fill in the feilds as shown in the image below!

Wa-Lah, you've got yourself a vortex!

Now to change the colour you click on ctrl + U, and then a pop up with come up. Tick Colorize and you'll be able to set the Hue, Saturation and the lightness.

Or You could do what I do, which is...
Make A New Layer, then select a gradient, in the diamond shape, draw down from the center on the vortex [on the new layer] and then set the mode to 'Hard Light'! It'll trun out like the image below

I hope this helps you all with making vortex's!
