Leaf Green & Fire Red Gym Guide Welcome to Piplup-Princess' FR & LG Gym Guide ^^; I hope this helps you all; If there is any mistakes/help need.. just email me :D #1 - Pewter City Gym - Brock The first gym leader is Brock. He has Rock type Pokemon. This is quite an easy gym to beat. Before battling Brock I recommend that your pokemon are levels 11-15. Types I recommend for you to use are Grass and Water. Brock only has two Pokemon, A geodude level 12 & an Onix level 14. Once you've defeated him you will receive the Boulder Badge and TM 39 (Rock Tomb). Having the badge will let you use the HM, Flash. #2 - Cerulean City Gym - Misty The second gym leader is Misty, she is the leader of the water type Pokemon. This is yet another easy gym, her weakness is grass and electric type. If you had a grass starter or a Pikachu in you team, you chose wisely. I recommend your Pokemon are at least levels 18=22. Misty only has two Pokemon, a Staryu level 18 and a Starmie level 21. A good grass or electric type move will do the trick. Once you've won you'll receive the wonderful Cascade Badge and the ability to use HM03, Cut. #3 - Vermilion City Gym - Lt. Surge The third gym leader is Lt. Surge. He is the gym leader of electric type. This gym is quite a powerful yet hard gym. You must be aware that the electric type moves equal paralyzation, so have lots of Full Heals and Paralyze Heals in your bag. The types I recommend for this gym are ground, fire and rock; a Geodude or a digglet would be great. Lt Surge has three Pokemon, a Voltorb level 21, Pikachu level 18 and a Raichu level 24. I would recommend all of your Pokemon to be at least level 19-25. Once you've defeated him you'll get the Thunder Badge and TM 34 (Shockwave) It also gives you the ability to use Fly. #4 - Celadon City Gym - Erika Your probably getting used to battling Gym leaders aye? Well your half way there once you've defeated Erika, the kind hearted Grass type Gym leader. I recommend you use fire and flying types, so if you started off with Charmander or have a Pidgey it would be great. The levels your Pokemon should be are 25-35. Erika's Pokemon are Tangela level 24, Victreebel level 29 and Vileplume level 29. Once you've defeated Erika you'll obtain the Rainbow Badge and TM19 Giga Drain. #5 - Fuchsia City Gym - Koga The fifth gym leader, Koga uses Poison type although the trainers in the gym are use Psychic type. Don't be a fool, buy lots of Antidote!! There is a maze to reach Koga, here is my explanation to make sure you arrive there. From entry Point go right all the way to the wall, then walk straight [upwards] till your at the top. Then go left till you reach the top left-hand corner. Walk 3 step's down, 3 step's right, then 4 step's down, 2 step's left, 2 step's down, 1 step right, 1s step down, 3 step's right, 2 step's down and 2 step's right. Now you should be directly infornt of Koga [or at least near him]. Will you stand undefeated or fail? The types I recommend for you to use in this gym are Pyschic, Fire and Rock. The levels that I recommend for your Pokemon are 38-45, They should be at least level 40 by now. Koga has four Pokemon; Koffing level 37, Muk level 39, Koffing level 37 and Weezing level 43. After you've taken Koga down you'll get the Soul Badge and TM06 Toxic. By having this badge you are now allowed to use Surf Outside of battle. Saffron City Mini Gym Although this is not a real gym it'll get you warmed up for the tough battle in the real gym! This is a Fighting type Mini gym that has 2 double battles then a normal battle [the normal battle is the one wil the leader]. The leader has two Pokemon, Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee. They are both at level 37. By now your Pokemon should be level 43-45. Once you've defeated him there will be two PokeBalls behind him.The left Pokeball contains Hitmonlee and the right has Hitmonchan. Grab one of them and head off the battle the real gym leader. #6 - Saffron City Gym - Sabrina Sabrina's gym is actually quite a hard and difficult gym to complete, the teleporters are hard and then the tough trainers! Once you've conquered the Teleporters and the trainers it's time to battle Sabrina! Sabrina uses Pyschic type Pokemon. So her weakness is Bug, Ghost and Dark type. So any of those types would surely knock her into place. The levels I recommend are 45-47. Your Pokemon must be these levels or else you stand no chance to defeat her [unless you have super Pokemon o_O;]. Sabrina's team consists of Kadabra level 38, Mr. Mime level 37, Venomoth level 38 and Alazkazam level 43. The Pokemon that are under level 40 are quite easy to beat but her Alakazam just needs to be hit with the right moves. Once you've kicked her butt you'll get the Marsh Badge and TM04; Calm Mind. #7 - Cinnabar Island Gym - Blaine Burn Baby Burn, Disco Inferno! [Music Note Here] Yes! You guessed it, Its a fire type Gym. If you have water Pokemon it'll be really easy to beat him. Blaine uses one of the strongst types but he will fall over as soon as he sees that you have great Pokemon knowledge. You have to answer some quiz questions about Pokemon stuff. I recommend your Pokemon to be level 45-50, they should be nothing less that level 45. Blaine has a Growlithe level 42, Ponyta level 40, Arcanine level 47 and a Rapidash level 41. Use the moves Earthquake or Surf or any Powerful water/ground move to wash his Pokemon away. When ya beat him you'll get the Wolcano Badge and TM38, Fire Blast [Thats one powerful move your getting, so use it wisely!]. #8 - Viridian City Gym - Giovanni SAY WHAA?!?! Giovanni is a Gym leader, whats this world coming to? Yes this nasty guy has a strong team you've battled before, well most of them... Giovanni uses Ground and Poison type Pokemon. So I recommend you use these types to win; Ice, Water and Pyschic. These types will absolutely pound Giovanni's Pokemin and lead you to ultimate victory! Since his Pokemon are at a high level, I recommend you to use levels 55+. Giovanni's team is: Dugtrio level 42, Rhyhorn level 45, Rhyhorn level 50, Nidoqueen level 44 and Nidoking level 54. His Rhyhorn and Dugtrio are really east to defeat but the Poison Pokemon, the two Nido's are very strong. This pair is hard to beat because of their strong attacks, but a simple ground move can knock them back into place. Once you've defeated Giovanni you'll recieve the Earth Badge and one of the best TM's... TM26; Earthquake! Now its time for you to battle the Pokemon League! I hope my guide helped you :D |
